ORTHODONTICS IN ADULTS

Orthodontic treatment is not a type of treatment performed only with braces. In orthodontics, there are many different treatment options that allow you to correct the structure of the teeth and jaw according to the patient’s oral structure, needs and expectations.

Orthodontic treatment can be done at any age. From 7 to 77, if you have healthy teeth in your mouth, your crowding can be corrected with orthodontic treatment. Especially in our old patients, there are problems when planning dental prosthesis due to the teeth they have lost over the years. Orthodontics can be applied before the prosthesis without shaving existing teeth or damaging your own teeth with smaller interventions.
Lingual orthodontics, metal brackets, ceramic/ porcelain brackets or transparent plaques (invisalign) are our treatment options for adults in orthodontics.

With the developing technology, all systems used in orthodontics have developed a lot. So, we can treat every case now without saying it's easy or difficult with almost all treatment options. At this point, when making decisions, we determine with our patients the treatment option that is suitable for our patients by taking into account what the patient expects from the treatment and the difference between the intersystem prices of orthodontic treatment.
If you want your braces not to appear, the transparent plaque treatment option (invisalign) or lingual orthodontics (invisible braces) may be suitable for you. Invisalign treatment option which is the most widely used transparent plaque system in the world in our clinic is applied by an orthodontist with invisalign user certificate.

Transparent plaque treatment (invisalign) and lingual orthodontics (invisible braces) are especially preferred by our patients who have been thrown into business life and who say I do not like the appearance of my teeth but do not want to wear braces.
As braces (metal brackets or ceramic brackets) that are classically attached to the outer surface of the teeth do not narrow the area of the tongue, it certainly does not affect speech.

In lingual orthodontics which are other treatment options, dental braces are attached to the inner surface of the teeth facing the tongue or the inner surface of the teeth is also covered with a plaque in the transparent plaque treatment. So your speech is affected a little until you get used to these treatment options. After 3 weeks of the adaptation period, everything will return to normal.
Thanks to new advances in orthodontics, we can also do whitening when you have braces in your mouth. The system which we call lingual orthodontics is the only treatment option that is completely invisible and dental braces are attached to the invisible back surfaces of your teeth. No one will notice that you are being treated unless you tell them. During lingual treatment, you can also do teeth whitening.
Braces have no such effect. The material used consists of stainless steel braces and nickel-titanium braces manufactured according to the latest technology.

Oral care is very important during treatment. We tell our patients in detail how they should clean their teeth at the beginning of treatment and the brushes used in dental braces treatment.

We inform our patients who come for a routine check-ups every month if oral care is not enough. Thus, when our patients who are constantly in the control take care of their oral care, their treatment progresses smoothly.
We examine our patients before orthodontic treatment and usually recommend that tooth cavity treatments be treated before starting. Because existing cavity can progress quickly if careful oral care is not performed during treatment. But if any problems are encountered during treatment, at that time the braces can be removed and the filling can be done.
If the position of the impacted teeth is not too bad to erupt and there is no case of fusion with the bone which we call ankylosis, we can erupt the impacted teeth at any age.
